CSX 5465
Title:  CSX 5465
Description:  CSXT 5465 leads a loaded grain train through downtown Thurmond, WV. The coaling tower, old abandoned buildings and C&O cantilever signals still stand as reminders of the past at this historic location which is now part of the New River National Historic Park. The building on the right was once the C&O company store, then later the Post Office, now it is one of the many abandoned buildings which makes up the smallest incorporated city in West Virginia, population 7.

CSX 5486
Title:  CSX 5486
Description:  What do you do when nature gives you lemons? You make lemonade! It's a dreary, cold, rainy fall West Virginia day where conditions are horrible for photography? You go inside an old depot and make the conditions work to your advantage. This photo is taken from the Yardmaster's office in the old C&O Thurmond, WV railroad depot. Looking railroad West toward "downtown" Thurmond, as a CSX unit grain train led by CSX ES44DC 5486, CW44-9 9007 and a CW40-8 passes by.
