Description:  NS 8927 leads an interesting train off of the Tug Fork Branch in downtown Welch, WV. The train is waiting for the main line to clear up so the single locomotive can join the Pokey main at Hemphill. This is a local consisting of 15 covered hoppers. I have no idea what is in the hoppers, but I am guessing it is plastic pellets for an industry up the branch. Definetly not grain.

Description:  SD70M-2 NS 2766 leads a -9 over the town of Coopers, WV on the massive 2 track trestle. On the right is the former company store of the Pocahontas Coal Company. It is now one of the many abandoned buildings in this part of the worlk. I am taking the picture from the abandoned right of way of the Norfolk and Western's Bluestone branch. The past year, NS had been storing miles of autoracks and coal hoppers on what is left of this line, but as of October, all stored cars have been removed.

You go inside an old depot and make the conditions work to your advantage. This photo is taken from the Yardmaster's office in the old C&O Thurmond, WV railroad depot.
