CSXT 505
Title:  CSXT 505
Description:  An interesting situation occurred on the Tampa Terminal Sub today. When trying to leave out of Yeoman Yard, K780, an empty rock train from Tampa to Miami had trouble with the trailing unit, CSXT 505. They finally got it running and it departed, but died while sitting in the siding at Mango. After waiting for Amtrak to pass, they decoupled from the train, ran engine light back to yeoman and picked up CSXT 806, then continued on. Here the trio of light engines cross over the Tampa bypass canal, a canal which connects with the Hillsborough River near I-75 and Fowler Ave and runs to Tampa Bay in the Palm River area. It was dug in the early 70s and part of the project included erecting a bridge for the SCLs A-Line here, and for the S-Line which included a 4 track bridge near 78th Street and SR 60. It is a popular spot for local fishermen.
