It is now one of the many abandoned buildings in this part of the worlk. I am taking the picture from the abandoned right of way of the Norfolk and Western's Bluestone branch. The past year, NS had been storing miles of autoracks and coal hoppers on what is left of this line, but as of October, all stored cars have been removed.

Description:  HLCX 5960, an ex-UP, nee-CNW SD60 sit's in Roanoke's South Yard with 2 GE units waiting on it's next assignment. South Yard is the former Virginian Railway's yard in Roanoke and now serves as a staging yard for outbound coal trains. It is a shadow of it's former self, a good portion of the property has been sold to a hospital, including the parking garage I took this shot from.
