CSX 2315
CSX Road Slug 2315 and GP40-2 6900 lead Y225, the Port Tampa local across the Hillsborough River Drawbridge on what is now known as the Port Tampa Spur. Formerly part of the ACL mainline from Richmond to Tampa. Note the University of Tampa Crew team practicing in the river. This bascule bridge was built by the ACL in 1915. The line to Port Tampa goes right through downtown Tampa and there is a short stretch of street running involved. The A-Line now officially ends at the Tampa Union Station leat at milepost A881.7, although it continues another 8.3 miles to old Port Tampa at A890.0 where it hits Tampa Bay. This last 8 miles of track is now known as the Port Tampa Spur and hosts nothing but a local 4-6 days a week depending on need.
